Cody Rhodes and The Rock are still not on good terms in WWE.

During an interview on Flagrant, Rhodes opened up about his relationship with The Rock and why things went sour between the two stars.

“When a situation like this (The Rock’s return) happens, it’s very real,” Rhodes said. “Hey, the fans made a choice and it’s very real. I think there’s just a lingering tension, maybe? I love him universally. I grew up a Rock fan. We We haven’t yet done a write-up on WrestleMania and what happened because I bet you his story is a little different. I think maybe some bad advice came in and that. he hasn’t acquired good knowledge about “ok, here’s the layout, here’s who’s sitting at this table.”

The Rock returned to WWE after the Royal Rumble won by Cody, which earned him a championship match against Roman rule at WrestleMania 40. Cody gave The Rock this chance on an episode of Smackdown, but due to strong fan reaction, plans for WrestleMania changed.

The Rock was still heavily involved in the event and appeared on the first and second nights. On the first night, he teamed with Roman Reigns and defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. On the second night, he attempted to help Roman Reigns defeat Cody to retain the championship, but was unsuccessful.

The Rock made a surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood earlier this month. Currently there are contradictory reports as to whether or not he will be available for WrestleMania 41 on April 19-20 next year in Las Vegas.
