“Amid U.S. warnings against a counterattack on Israel, Iran sends a diplomatic message of defiance: It plans a complex response involving nuclear warheads and other, even more powerful weapons,” the message reads .

An Egyptian official said Iran had privately warned of a “strong and complex” response.

The newspaper also quotes an Iranian official who said the Iranian army had suffered losses and therefore the Israelis “must respond.” He added that Iran could use Iraqi territory for operations and would likely strike Israeli military installations, “but much more aggressively than last time.”

It remains unclear whether Iran’s threats are real or just strong rhetoric. The Iranian regime has informed Arab diplomats that this time it will involve its regular army, although this does not involve the deployment of troops, the publication notes. He suggests that not only the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) but also regular forces could participate in the operation.
