Dr Manohar ordered that criminal proceedings be promptly initiated against anyone demanding amounts in excess of the authorized demand charges.

Dr Ram Prasath Manohar, chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), has issued a stern warning against individuals illegally demanding additional charges for Cauvery water connections. He stressed that candidates should apply directly through the official online portal of the BWSSB and avoid intermediaries. Criminal action will be taken against anyone misusing the BWSSB name to make illegal monetary demands.

Dr Ram Prasath Manohar said, “Getting a Cauvery water connection is a simple process. Once applications are submitted online, BWSSB officials will take the necessary steps as per the regulations. apartments or commercial buildings – are issued in accordance with official rules. After paying the legal fees to the BWSSB bank account, new connections will be provided without any problem.

He added: “To resolve this problem, a specialized vigilance cell has been created under the leadership of the administrative director. This team will investigate and resolve complaints related to illegal requests for Cauvery connections, with a commitment to act promptly within 24 hours of receiving a complaint. Concerned citizens can send their complaints, along with relevant information, to bwssbvigilance@gmail. com.

He also said that as per the directives of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, BWSSB is dedicated to providing water connections to Cauvery in an equitable and transparent manner. “Those facing illegal demands are encouraged to report them to the BWSSB vigilance team. The identity of the complainants will be kept strictly confidential and decisive legal action will be taken against the violators,” Dr Manohar reiterated.
