Trump trolls Harris campaign with offer of leftover funds to wipe out debts after she ‘spent $1 billion’

President-elect Donald Trump took a look at the Harris-Walz campaign finances and spending with a surprising proposal on social media. Flaunting his campaign’s success through low-cost “earned media,” Trump suggested that Republicans could help cover Democrats’ debts, which would remain burdensome despite record fundraising. This comes after reports surfaced that the Harris campaign had raised more than $1 billion, but was still $20 million in debt.

Trump offers Harris fund for campaign leftovers

Harris, once considered a front-runner in polls, reportedly invested $20 million in concerts the day before the election, only to face a crushing defeat that left her campaign deeply in debt. Now there are reports that vendors and staff are eager to get paid, given the campaign’s financial woes.

Trump turned to Truth Social, joking that Republicans could “chip in” to help Democrats. “I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 presidential election, raising a record amount of money, did not have many dollars,” Trump wrote on X Saturday evening.

His ironic suggestion was accompanied by a call for unity. The 47th President of the United States wrote: “Now they are being squeezed by sellers and others. Anything we can do to help them during this difficult time I highly recommend, as a Party and for the sake of the UNITY we so desperately need.

He continued: “We have a lot of money left in that our biggest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ and it doesn’t cost much,” ending the stunt with his tagline: “LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

The election night concert in question reportedly featured a wide range of stars, including Jon Bon Jovi, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Yesterday, a report from the Washington Examiner suggested that Harris’ campaign even spent a six-figure sum to have Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper interview the Democratic candidate.

Trump excludes Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo from new cabinet

On Saturday, Trump, who is now preparing to return to the White House in 2025 and is focused on forming his new Cabinet, is reportedly considering offering prominent roles to major party supporters such as RFK Jr., Vivek Ramaswamy and other MAGA figures. Surprisingly, he excluded the former UN ambassador Nikki Haleywho once boldly competed for the Republican Party nomination, as well as Mike Pompeo, the former CIA director under Trump from 2017 to 2018.

“I will not invite former Ambassador Nikki Haley, nor former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump administration, which is currently in formation,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social published Saturday. He added: “I have greatly enjoyed working with them before and would like to thank them for their service to our country. LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Haley and Pompeo had a rocky relationship with the politician throughout his campaign. While Haley has remained an outspoken critic of Trump despite supporting him after he suspended his campaign, Pompeo has been accused of not speaking out enough for Trump, remaining silent and quietly supporting him.
