EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – In honor of National Lung Cancer Day, officials at Ascension St. Vincent need to remind everyone of the importance of CT scans.

Screening for lung cancer is of crucial importance for the patient’s outcome.

Early detection of cancer means there may be more treatment options.

“Sure, I would suggest getting a CT scan,” said Ascension St. Vincent patient Randy Plunkett. “The answers won’t hurt you, not doing something will hurt you, so that’s it. My suggestion would be to do the scan, you know, get it scanned if there’s something wrong. These people are proving that they will solve the problem.

A doctor recommends that you talk to your doctor and see if you need to be screened for lung cancer.
