Musk-owned X suspends Hebrew account opened by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei

X (formerly Twitter), owned by Elon Musk, has suspended a Hebrew account opened by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Jerusalem Post reported. The account was suspended after just two posts.

According to the report, the account’s first message read: “In the name of Allah, the most merciful.” » The information was republished on Khamenei’s official English account, Khamenei.ir. This account on X (formerly Twitter) is verified and has over a million followers.

The second and final message read: “The Zionist regime made a mistake and was wrong in its calculations regarding Iran. We will make him understand the power, capacity, initiative and desire of the Iranian nation.

Khamenei often posts in Hebrew and uses strong language against Israel from his verified account.

After the latest Israeli strike against Iran on October 26, Khamenei said Israeli airstrikes should not be amplified or minimized. He added that even if Israel wishes to amplify the impacts of its actions against Iran, it would also not be fair for Iran to view these strikes as insignificant.

Iran’s supreme leader, in his first public comments since the attack, said: “It is up to the authorities to determine how to transmit the power and will of the Iranian people to the Israeli regime and to take measures that serve the interests of this nation and country.”

Israel said it targeted military sites in several areas of Iran on October 26 in retaliation for Iranian attacks, which saw a barrage of nearly 200 ballistic missiles fired toward Israel on October 1.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had crippled Iran’s air defense and missile production systems. He said the strikes had “severely damaged Iran’s defense capability and its ability to produce missiles.”
