Where does Ole Miss Football land after win over Georgia?

THE Ole Miss Rebels come out of a huge win against the Georgia Bulldogs last weeka game that helped keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive. According to the new CFP ranking which were released Tuesday night, this win would also be enough to put the Rebels in the playoffs, if the season ended today.

Coming in at No. 11 in this week’s rankings, Ole Miss is currently scheduled to travel to face Penn State in the first round of the playoffs, the same game from last year’s Peach Bowl in which Ole Miss came away victorious.

This is an increase of five places compared to Ole Miss rankings last week when he came in 16th place. You can view this week’s entire CFP rankings below.

Georgia, who the Rebels beat last week in Oxford, would be the “first team eliminated” from the CFP despite being ranked 12th. That’s because Boise State, at 13th, would be the fifth-highest ranked conference champion, if the season ended today.

The four highest-ranked conference champions will get a first-round bye, meaning that if those rankings were applicable to the actual playoff setup, the Rebels would travel to face No. 4 Penn State (sixth seed). series), in the first round. Using these rankings, Oregon, Texas, BYU and Miami would represent the four highest-ranked conference champions and earn the bye.
