Young people are encouraged to break the stigma of “snitches”

Crimestoppers IOM promotes its ‘Fearless’ service allowing children to report crime anonymously

According to Crimestoppers Isle of Man, breaking the stigma of “snitches” is key to encouraging young people to report crimes.

In the run-up to Safeguarding Week next week, it is promoting its ‘Intrepid‘ – a website on which young people can make a report completely anonymously.

The charity, which is completely independent of the police and government, will then pass the information on to the authorities.

Karen Ramsay is the president and says it can be difficult to get the message out:

If you would like to report a crime anonymously, you can also visit the Crimestoppers website. here or call 0800 555 111.
