At Oprah List of favorite things 2024she shared the shoes Gayle King once wore for “12 hours straight.” The remarkable shoes? The sneaker-high heel hybrid from Sneex, more precisely, Icon style. In fact, King recently wore the (somewhat controversial) shoe on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

King, 69, took the stage wearing a stunning all-green ensemble, matching Sneex included. And when the list of favorite things was mentioned, she jumped at the chance to show off the shoes. “It’s one of my favorites, if you don’t mind,” she said, placing a heel on Meyers’ desk. “So it’s (created by) Sara Blakely, guys… from spanx fame. She spent eight years wanting to have a high heel that was as comfortable as a sneaker,” she began.

“Every time I walk, people ask me, ‘What is that?’ “, King continued. She noted that more opposing friends like to think the comments are facetious. But King believes there is real interest and appeal for its new must-have shoes. After all, they are certainly unique. “Have you ever seen anything like this?” King asked for the room. Meyers and the audience shared a resounding no. “See? Isn’t that a good thing?” she concluded.

You may be wondering: how exactly are Sneex more comfortable than heels? Because they clearly have some stylus elevation. Well, according to the blurb for Winfrey’s Favorite Things, “The innovation is in how it redistributes the weight of the sole of your foot,” she wrote. “The result was a shoe that Gayle wore for 12 hours straight!” So she really wears them for hours. The shoes also feature Velcro straps for a custom fit and arch support.

Before Winfrey’s cry, Sneex was already becoming a celebrity. Reese Witherspoon shared his love for themcalling them “so comfortable” and Jane Fonda also recently showed off hers on Instagram. “I don’t wear high heels anymore, but I can wear @sneex VERY comfortably!” she wrote.

The verdict is therefore in: despite some resistance, Sneex is officially present.
