The number of jobs in Jersey’s private and public sectors reached the highest level recorded since 2000 in June, according to a labor market report.

Statistics Jersey said its labor market report, published every six months, showed 65,290 positions on the island in June 2024, up from 64,260 in December 2023.

There were 55,590 positions in Jersey’s private sector and 9,710 in the civil service – the highest figure recorded to date.

The figures reveal an annual increase of 70 jobs in the private sector, an increase of 450 jobs in government and 130 additional positions in private education, health and other services.
