Ape Sociale, applications expire

The allowance is accessible to workers registered with Compulsory General Insurance for employees, with substitute and exclusive forms thereof, with special management for self-employed workers and with Separate Management who find themselves in certain professional, personal and family.

The Ape Sociale measure, in force since May 1, 2017, and already extended until December 31, 2024, will be further extended until December 31, 2025, as provided for in article 24 of the 2024 finance law, already approved by the House and in progress. finalized in the Senate.

Access conditions

To obtain the allowance, it is necessary that people meeting the conditions indicated by law have, at the time of requesting access, the following conditions:

• aged at least 63 years and 5 months;
• at least 30 years of contributory seniority; for workers carrying out arduous activities, the minimum contributory seniority required is 36 years (or at least 32 years, for the categories of arduous work illustrated on the Ape Sociale page). For recognition of the allowance, the contributory conditions are reduced, for women, by 12 months for each child, up to a maximum of two years;
• not be in receipt of a direct pension.

Access to the benefit is also subject to the cessation of salaried, self-employed and parasubordinate work activities carried out in Italy or abroad. The allowance is not compatible with income support measures linked to involuntary unemployment, with unemployment benefits, nor with compensation for cessation of commercial activity.

Beginning

The Ape Sociale allowance begins to run on the first day of the month following the request for access to the allowance, provided that all the requirements and conditions provided for by law are met on this date and that the professional activity has ceased. .

The Ape Sociale is paid monthly for 12 months per year, until the age required to obtain the old age pension, or until obtaining a direct pension anticipated or obtained before the age of the old age pension. old age.

To assess whether the financial resources allocated are sufficient to cover the advantage relative to the number of eligible people, monitoring is carried out. Monitoring is based on the closest proximity to the old age condition and, in case of equal requirement, on the date of submission of the application for recognition of the conditions.

Amounts

The allowance, in the event of registration with a single direction, is equal to the amount of the monthly pension payment calculated at the time of access to the benefit (if less than 1,500 euros) or equal to 1,500 euros ( if the pension is equal to or greater than this amount). The amount of the allowance is neither re-evaluated nor integrated into the minimum salary.

In the case of a subject having contributions paid or credited for whatever reason in more than one direction, among those concerned by the Social Ape, the calculation of the monthly pension payment is carried out pro rata for each direction regarding the respective membership periods. accumulated, according to the calculation rules provided for by each ordinance and on the basis of the respective reference salaries. During the enjoyment of the allowance, no figurative contribution is due. Ape Sociale processing ceases in the event of the death of the holder and is not reversible for survivors. Recipients are not entitled to Family Allowances (ANF).

How to apply

Persons who, on December 31, 2024, find themselves or could find themselves in the conditions provided for by law must, before requesting the benefit, submit a request for recognition of the conditions of access to the benefit before March 31, 2024, i.e. July 15. , 2024, and, in any event, at the latest November 302024. So, by the end of the current month, the last access window will close.

Simultaneously or during the processing of the request for recognition of the conditions of access to the Ape Sociale, the subject already in possession of all the required conditions, including the cessation of professional activity, may submit the request for access to the advantage, so as not to lose salary slices.

Requests, both for recognition of the conditions of access to the Ape Sociale and for access to the service, must be sent to the competent territorial offices of the INPS and submitted electronically through the usual institutional channels.

For the processing of requests, a specific protocol has been developed jointly by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, INPS, INAIL, ANPAL and INL, in which the modalities for exchanging data with other entities, the methods of verifying the declarations made by the applicant and the employer, the cases in which the INPS can contact the National Labor Inspectorate have been identified.
