Emily Jokela signs to compete for Grand Valley State in track and field. Jokela is a multi-sport athlete who competed in basketball, softball and track and field at Lake Linden-Hubbell. As a sprinter, she dominated the UP Division III 100, 200 and 400 meter sprints, as well as the 300 meter hurdles, including victories in the 100, 400 and hurdles at the UP championships last spring, leading the Lakes to a back-to-back victory. tag team titles. She was last year’s Copper Mountain Conference Most Outstanding Track Athlete. Jokela is also Lakes’ all-time basketball career leading scorer with 1,438 points and was recognized as CMC League MVP and Associated Press All-State First Team. She is the daughter of Lori and John Jokela, also pictured.
