Mahindra is all set and ready for the launch of its upcoming electric SUVs, the BE 6th And XEV9e. We expect Mahindra to reveal the full car tomorrow along with the starting price, and full pricing will be announced soon. Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e are based on the new INGLO platform, which will also underpin future Mahindra electric vehicles.

Design Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e

Modern and futuristic are the two words that come up when we look at the teasers of these two SUVs. For context, the BE 6e is the production model of the BE 05 Concept, while the XEV 9e is the production-ready version of the XUV e9.

The BE 6e is a compact electric SUV with an overall sporty and futuristic look that will catch your attention from the start. Its clean lines and angular design elements further add to its attractive design.

The XEV 9e, on the other hand, sports a muscular look and sophisticated design. Connected LED lighting elements and a sloping roofline are some key elements that make the design attractive.

Design elements such as flush door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels will be offered with both SUVs.

Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e Interior

Teasers have given us a glimpse of their interior, revealing that the XEV 9e will have a triple-screen setup, while the BE 6e will feature a dual-screen setup, thus missing the entertainment screen for the co-driver.

Both electric vehicles will feature a modern, minimalist interior and offer a premium feel inside the cabin. The teasers also revealed a new 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center, which sets them apart from other Mahindra models. The XEV 9e is expected to feature an opening panoramic sunroof, and the BE 6e will likely be offered with a fixed glass unit.

Features of Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e

Besides the panoramic glass roof and multiple screens (3 with XEV 9e and 2 with BE 6e), we expect both electric vehicles to be offered with all your high-end and premium features that will leave you more than satisfied. Some of these include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power front seats, multiple wireless phone chargers, multi-color ambient lighting, and a premium audio system.

Passenger safety will likely be ensured by ADAS, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e powertrains

It has been confirmed that the Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e will be available with two batteries of 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Underpinned by the new INGLO platform, the SUVs will likely be available with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems.

The rear-wheel drive configuration of both electric vehicles will feature an electric motor capable of generating up to 286 hp. Yes, these numbers make them the most powerful Mahindra cars yet!

The BE 6e and XEV 9e will feature fast charging capabilities ranging from 20 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes, using a 175 kW DC charger. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, both SUVs will likely have a claimed range of over 500 km.

Mahindra BE 6th and XEV 9th Prices and rivals

The BE 6e is likely to be priced between Rs 20-Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with compact electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV as well as upcoming cars like the Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.

The XEV 9e will go head-to-head with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and is likely to be priced around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
