Dangote refinery gives conditions to traders to increase gasoline as new pump prices emerge

Suleiman explains:

“If Dangote has a product selling at N1,000, suppose there is another place selling it at N900, we cannot just say for the sake of our relationship with Dangote that we will ask our members to ‘buy there. We have to go where the price is lower, where we will get profit. »

IPMAN also alleged that despite the fall in crude prices, Dangote Refinery did not reduce his petrol to N995 per litre.

Suleiman stressed that the additional costs make it difficult for IPMAN members to sell at competitive prices, but promised that changes would come if adjustments were made, BusinessDay reports.

He said:

“We must pity Nigerians, IPMAN is doing its best to support the country, especially in this difficult time when people are suffering. We want to source cheaper products and sell them at prices people can afford.

IPMAN gives conditions to reduce gasoline prices

IPMAN lives seeks to engage in direct discussions with key industry stakeholders, including the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPMAN), to find practical solutions for cheaper fuel distribution, which in turn, impact on pump prices.

He noted:

“If Dangote sold directly to IPMAN at a fair price, fuel costs would have already come down in Nigeria,” Suleiman pointed out. He argued that allowing IPMAN to buy at a discounted price could lead to a rapid decline in pump prices at independent fuel stations across Nigeria.

“We would go straight to his refinery, pay N995 or N900 and transport it straight to our filling stations. I challenge you: if Dangote did this, you would see prices drop at our retail stations within days. »

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery, is seen as key to helping reduce fuel prices in Nigeria.
