A man from Telangana’s Badrachalam, who attempted suicide by jumping into the Godavari river, was rescued by quick-witted passers-by on Monday.

The man was seen sitting on a bridge railing, preparing to jump into the water. In the video of the rescue, a person can be seen continually talking to the man, asking him not to jump.

As the first person continued to talk to him, another man arrived on a bicycle, approached from behind and pulled him back onto the road.

The young man was saved moments before he could throw himself into the river.
