According to Puri, the difficulty level of CAT 2024 – Slot 1 was quite tricky and reflected an increased difficulty level compared to the previous year. He said: “There were a total of 68 questions that had to be asked in 120 minutes. The overall difficulty level of this year’s exam was higher than that of the first slot of CAT 2023.”

Puri further shared a section-wise overview of the document on slot 1 which has been mentioned below:

• VARC: The VARC section of CAT 2024 was of moderate difficulty level, with 24 questions to be answered in 40 minutes. Overall, this section was more accessible than the previous year.
• DILR: The DILR section of CAT 2024 was in moderate difficulty, similar to the previous year. It consisted of 20 questions, with 40 minutes allocated for this section.
• AQ: The AQ section proved more difficult this year.

It is worth mentioning here that the exam is conducted over three slots. The second slot is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the third slot will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
