Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane has won the Gerd Müller Trophy for top scorer for the 2023/24 season, which he will share with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé. England’s top scorer received the prestigious award at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.

Kane – who will share the prize with current Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé – has scored 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions for Bayern last season, while his eight goals for England in the same season took the 31-year-old’s tally to 52 for club and country.

In his first season with the Bavarian giants after signing from Tottenham Hotspur, Kane blew away the competition in the Bundesliga by lifting the famous Torjägerkanone trophy for the division’s top scorer with 36 goals in just 32 appearances.

This count also earned the Londoner the Golden Shoe as Europe’s best club striker, an accolade already won by Bayern greats Robert Lewandowski And Gerd Mullerafter whom Kane’s latest award is named.

Kane has started the current campaign in equally prolific form for Bayern, joining Omar Marmouch at the start of the race at the top of Bundesliga scorer rankings with nine goals. Indeed, the striker’s tally in all competitions stands at 15 goals in 12 matches, while he tops the UEFA Champions League table this season with five goals to his name.

The Gerd Müller Trophy was inaugurated in 2021 to honor one of the greatest goalscorers of all time. The three previous winners are former Bayern striker Lewandowski (twice) and Borussia Dortmund Before Erling Haaland.
