STREETSBORO, Ohio (WOIO) – A fire gutted a storage building on the grounds of Evergreen Cemetery Friday afternoon.

Streetsboro firefighters said they were called around 2:10 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a storage building engulfed in flames.

Department of Services employees were working in the cemetery when they discovered the fire and called first responders.

There were no injuries to firefighters or service personnel.

According to the SFD, approximately 3/4 of the building was destroyed, including a front-end loader stored inside. Another excavator stored in the rear portion of the building was severely damaged, but was able to be started and removed from the building.

The cause is still under investigation, but is believed to be accidental.

No graves or headstones were damaged.

The Twinsburg and Reminderville fire departments assisted each other.
