Swedish car manufacturer Volvo is preparing to expand its range of electric products worldwide. In a bid to attract the masses towards battery-powered vehicles, the company is all set to launch its first electric sedan ES90, and the launch is planned for 2025.

It has been reported that the global debut will likely take place in March 2025. However, the exact date has not yet been announced. If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming model has been developed with a focus on the Chinese market, although it will reach several countries to contribute to the electric vehicle segment.

Here’s what to expect from the electric sedan

The upcoming electric sedan will likely share many similarities with the EX90 electric SUV, with the identical Thor-style hammer headlight setup, paired with sleek daytime running lights, complemented by a closed grille with the company’s style statement and dominance . The overall profile of the exterior could display a similar vibe to the company’s S90 sedan.

Interior details

Inside, the cabin will once again share many similarities with the EX90. Customers can expect a full touchscreen infotainment console in the center, supported by all wireless automotive connection technologies. A fully digital instrument cluster will be there to enhance the overall driving experience.

Platform and size

The model will use Volvo’s bespoke SPA2 electric platform. In case you didn’t know, this is the same platform that was used for the EX90. As for overall size, the EV will be longer than the S90, at an impressive 4,999mm, and will likely have a wheelbase of 3,100mm.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the ES90 will come with a 111 kWh battery that will offer a maximum range of up to 600 km on a single charge. It will be offered in single-motor versions with rear-wheel drive and dual-motor versions with all-wheel drive.
