Makueni: Grief as another KCSE student dies mysteriously as exam continues

Cornelius Maundu Musyoka sadly died in hospital following a short illness.

The young man, a 2024 Kenya Secondary Education Certificate (KCSE) at St. Dominic Kitise Secondary School, died while on oxygen.

He had been ill for a few days before he died, leaving his family and the school in great sadness.

A source said TUKO.co.ke that the young man suffered an emergency illness on the night of Thursday, November 7.

“He was vomiting and coughing constantly. He was taken to a clinic, but the situation worsened throughout the night. He was rushed to Makueni County Referral Hospital,” said The source.

When did Cornelius Maundu Musyoka die?

Musyoka’s family was alerted as soon as the boy suffered an emergency illness, but it was too late for his relatives to reach the hospital that night.

His heartbroken mother planned to visit him on Friday, November 8 to check on his progress at the hospital.

Despite the work of doctors, the young boy’s situation worsened and developed complications.

He sadly passed away that afternoon while on oxygen after his oxygen levels decreased.

In another story, a male candidate registered at a school in Tigania West died just hours before his first election was scheduled to take place.

The incident reportedly occurred around midnight and the sudden death of the candidate deeply shocked the school and the community.

Despite this tragic death, the region also reported a significant number of adult candidates and prisoners.

Statistics show that 151 elderly people took the same exams in the five centers in the region and 12 male inmates.
