Dubai Future Forum 2024 brings together 2,500 futurists to answer the world’s most intriguing questions about humanity – UAE

  • On November 19-20, the world’s largest gathering of futurists will once again address some of the biggest questions facing humanity today.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the third edition of the Dubai Future Forum will be held at the Museum of the Future from November 19 to 20, 2024.

Organized by the Dubai Future Foundation, the annual forum is the world’s largest gathering of futurists and forward-looking institutions. This year’s edition will welcome more than 2,500 futurists and industry experts from around 100 countries, with the participation of around 100 leading international foresight institutions.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of the DFF, explained how the global gathering will once again challenge perceptions of the future. Providing a platform for experts, futurists and decision-makers to share their visions, the Dubai Future Forum is a place where global challenges are addressed, opportunities are identified and strategies for the future are proposed.

HE Al Gergawi said: “The Dubai Future Forum initiates meaningful global dialogues that bring to the forefront the perspectives, opinions and ideas of leading experts and forward-looking institutions. It has become a global hub for fostering international partnerships in future studies and for establishing programs in the most important sectors. The forum also led to the launch of concrete initiatives using the latest technologies to address society’s challenges.

Five general themes

The 2024 sessions will focus on five key themes: the future of nature, empowering generations, transforming humanity, optimizing health and foresight. Experts will explore the future of critical sectors including energy, food, artificial intelligence, digital economy, space, biomedicine, nature regeneration and sustainability, and new systems social.

The Dubai Future Forum 2024 will feature around 70 panel discussions, keynote speeches and workshops, with over 150 speakers, including ministers, government officials, CEOs, academics, policymakers, thought leaders and futurists from United Arab Emirates and around the world.

This year’s forum will also highlight innovative solutions to global challenges and showcase 100 experimental projects under the Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity initiative, overseen by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. With support of AED 100 million from the programme’s strategic partner, the Hussain Sajwani Foundation – DAMAC, the program is expected to make Dubai a hub of innovation and a fertile ground for talents and creative thinkers in all sectors of the future.

Public activations and engagements across Dubai

This year’s edition will launch a series of new events organized before, during and after the forum, including interactive, cultural and artistic activities aimed at fostering collaboration among participants. Additionally, a series of workshops will be held on November 21 at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) and CodersHQ in Emirates Towers, Dubai. These workshops will equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills to anticipate and prepare for emerging trends. The sessions will also provide in-depth insights into future planning methodologies, scenario building and innovative problem-solving approaches.

Other citywide events offer unique experiences blending creativity and foresight. These include the Futures Film Showcase at Cinema Akil, Nomadic Futures workshops at The Courtyard in Al Quoz, and brainstorming sessions on the future of diplomacy at the Fiker Institute. Attendees can also attend a “Future of Food” event at BOCA Restaurant in Dubai International Financial Centre.

Global society of the future

Last year’s edition of the Dubai Future Forum announced that 36 institutions from 17 countries would join the Global Future Society. This global network was launched during the 2022 edition of the forum, consolidating the position of the Museum of the Future as the global headquarters of futurists and reinforcing Dubai’s leadership in promoting partnerships to build a better future for humanity .
