Delhi electoral roll update begins for 2025 elections: Correction deadlines inside

Delhi’s chief election office has launched a comprehensive summary review of the electoral roll to prepare for the 2025 assembly elections. Covering all 70 constituencies, the initiative allows residents to update voter information, correct errors and register their objections. Here’s everything Delhi voters need to know:

KEY DEADLINES AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • October 29 to November 28 is the period for filing complaints and objections, while December 24 is the date when final resolutions will be processed.
  • This initiative is essential for citizens who want their voices to be heard in the upcoming elections in February.
  • Additionally, January 6, 2025 will see the publication of the revised electoral roll, marking the final call for updates.
  • New voters who turn 18 by January 1, 2025, as well as those reaching voting age during the April, July and October quarterly cycles, are encouraged to submit applications in advance using the form 6 to be registered on the electoral lists.
  • Applications received at the start of each term will be processed promptly, ensuring new voters are added efficiently.

EASY ACCESS

  • To facilitate verification, the draft electoral list is available online on the official website and at designated polling places.
  • Residents can verify their contact details, submit complaints for wrongful deletions and make necessary updates using Form 6, ensuring they are listed correctly.
  • The Election Commission has improved accessibility by providing online resources and mobile applications, including the Voter Helpline and the ‘Saksham’ app, designed for citizens with disabilities.
  • These resources simplify the review process, allowing residents to check and update voter details from their devices.
  • For further assistance, voters can call the 1950 helpline, providing easy access to information and assistance.
