Four schools in the Daviess County Public Schools district were recognized for their implementation of technology in the classroom. This is tied for the most schools in a single district in the state to achieve Gold status by the Kentucky Department of Education’s Student Technology Leadership Program.

Audubon Elementary, Burns Elementary, Burns Middle School and Apollo High all earned this designation. Aaron Yeiser, instructional technology coordinator for Daviess County Public Schools, said this achievement highlights the district’s unwavering commitment to providing students with exceptional learning opportunities that foster creativity, innovation, leadership and problem-solving skills.

“We are incredibly proud of our schools for reaching this remarkable milestone,” Yeiser said. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers and administrators who constantly strive together to lead children to excellence. It also highlights the power of project-based learning and the transformative impact it can have on student engagement and achievement.

The Gold Status designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate sustained commitment to implementing STLP, which empowers students to become leaders in their schools and communities through technology. Gold Status schools “provide students with a wide range of opportunities to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and collaborate with their peers to solve real-world problems,” according to a release.
