That phrase has become a familiar refrain for him and his campaign, who often dismiss claims that attendees are leaving his events early. “You don’t have empty seats. You had nothing,” he repeated for emphasis.

The crowd joined in unison to applaud his boasts. Meanwhile, the camera turned around to show a surprising reality: a series of empty seats.
