Clipse signs with Def Jam for a new album

Clip officially signed with Final jam for their next album, Let God sort them.

The news was announced by Malice via Instagram, who posted a photo inside the label’s offices and in front of a screen that reads “Def Jam welcomes Clipse.” The rapper’s brother, Pusha Thas previously signed with Def Jam for a solo deal, but this is the duo’s first time working with Def Jam; they were previously with Star Trak, Arista, Jive, Re-up, Columbia and Elektra.

Let God sort them will mark the pair’s first studio effort in 15 years, the last dating back to 2009. Until the coffin falls. Clipse shared in a previous interview that Pharrell would produce the project in its entirety, while Nas, John Legend and Stove Good Cooks would join as guest stars.

“I think the album shows the supreme maturation of a rap duo. I think that’s where you see the difference between taste and filler,” Push said. “This music is organized. This is a work of high taste level. You can only have this level of taste when you have mastered the fundamentals of a science. I think it was definitely missing. Then there is the competitive aspect. Malice added: “This is what rap should sound like if you’re real in your craft, real in your experience, real in your storytelling. It’s about getting fans to see growth, without trying to fit in or manufacture. ” He continued, “It seems like in other genres of music, they have the luxury of growing up. For some reason, we act like we’re not meant to evolve. This is what the true evolution of Clipse looks like. It’s just nice to be able to show that while having some top-notch rap.

Stay tuned for an official release date.
