Nearly half of Queensland voters had already cast their ballots before polling opened today.

According to the Electoral Commission of Queensland, the state has 3.68 million registered voters.

Officials confirmed that 1.68 million people had voted early in one form or another.

“Of the 3.68 million voters registered to vote in Queensland, almost two million people have already voted, either through early voting, postal voting, or other channels such as telephone voting.” , said Election Commissioner Pat Vidgen.
