Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has hit out at Ballon d’Or organizers after teammate Vinicius Junior missed out on the coveted award on Monday night.

Camavinga suggested organizers played politics in the results which saw Manchester City’s Rodri win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Vinicius.

The French international also opined that Vinicius is the best player in the world and no award can define the Brazilian’s footballing prowess.

DAILY POST reports that the decision to give the award to Rodri, however, sparked a lot of controversy on social media.

Many think Vinicius deserved it more.

However, hours before the ceremony began on Monday, it was widely reported that Vinicius would not win, prompting Real Madrid to boycott the ceremony.

Reacting after Rodri won the award, Camavinga posted on X alongside a photo of himself with Vinicius:
