Barça in state of ‘flow’ after beating Madrid: Flick

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said his side were in a state of “flux” after beating Real Madrid 4-0 on Saturday to move six points clear at the top of La Liga.

The Catalan giants triumphed at the Santiago Bernabeu to end Madrid’s 42-match unbeaten run and continue their own revival under the German coach who arrived in the summer.

“We started the journey and we are doing very well,” Flick told reporters.

“We continue with our idea, we have a flow right now and we have to continue.”

Barcelona have 10 wins in 11 league matches despite missing several injured players, some of whom have started to return.

“I would say right now we are in a flow,” Flick reiterated.

“The atmosphere is really good and the mentality within the team is really exceptional.”

“We can celebrate this victory, I gave the players two days off… it’s a good day to celebrate that, but also to be focused, focused on the next games that we have.”

Robert Lewandowski scored twice early in the second half to help Barcelona take control, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha completing the rout.

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe had two goals ruled out for offside and Barcelona’s defense took down Los Blancos players 12 times in the match thanks to their high defensive line.

“Of course Robert showed his qualities in front of goal, he was really good for us,” Flick said.

“It’s a team question, they defend well and they attack well as a team…

“(The players) followed our game plan and it was really great to see.”
