UPDATED: An earlier version of this article stated that Jacob Fatu had not paid or been in contact with Jake’s Hope Network. JNOH has provided an updated statement on the issue which you can read below.

In 2023, Jacob Fatu received a payment of Jake’s Network of Hope (JNOH), a non-profit organization, to participate in a fundraiser for professional wrestling. Fatu received $2,633 for his appearance, airfare and hotel accommodation. The Bloodline henchman canceled his appearance ahead of the event, citing a “family emergency.” Jake’s Hope Network said it was understanding but asked Fatu to repay the money.

This did not happen.

A Reddit user associated with JNOH described the incident in a post from 2023. job.

Last June, NBC 26 aired the JNOH story during a broadcast, then posted the video on YouTube. According to NBC, JNOH intended to remain silent on the matter, but was forced to speak out after learning that other organizations had a similar experience with Fatu. Much of this has been covered in various media outlets in 2023. However, early Monday (November 4) morning, the unfortunate incident resurfaced.

A Reddit user named CaliggyJack wrote a post titled Has Jacob Fatu ever paid back the charity money he stole?looking for updated information on the story.

“There hasn’t really been any news since the incident, I’ve googled everywhere and haven’t found anything new about it,” CaliggyJack wrote. “So I’m wondering if anyone in the community has been able to find any information on resolving this situation?”

Prestigious-Art-3564, the Reddit user who originally posted the story last year, replied:

“Hello, I was the one who originally posted about this. My wife worked at the time for a non-profit, Jakes Network of Hope in Appleton/Neenah Wisconsin. No, unfortunately he did not refund the charity.”

The withdrawal of SI contacted Jake’s Hope Network to request an update on the situation. Development Director Jenn Harper responded with an official statement.

“Jacob Fatu and our organization are addressing this matter privately, beginning with a phone call and sincere apology last May. Although the full amount owed has not yet been repaid, we appreciated Jacob’s recognition. It can be difficult to confront his wrongdoings, and we commend him for taking steps to confront his own.
