Rutland to speak at luncheon and housing development opening | Business

ACG organizes events for Baton Rouge, New Orleans

James B. “Pepper” Rutland will be the guest speaker at the Association for Corporate Growth Baton Rouge luncheon Wednesday at noon at the City Club of Baton Rouge, 355 North Blvd.

Rutland is founder and CEO of MMR Group, the largest open shop electrical and instrumentation contractor in the United States.

Admission is free for ACG Louisiana members and $75 for non-members.

Edgar “Dook” Chase IV will be the guest speaker at the ACG New Orleans luncheon on November 12 at noon at the Windsor Court Hotel, 300 Gravier St.

Chase is the fourth generation of the family behind Dooky Chase Restaurant. He is the owner and executive chef of Chapter IV, a downtown breakfast and lunch restaurant.

Admission is free for CAG members and $75 for non-members.

Affordable housing development opens in north Baton Rouge

Joor Place Reserve is open at 4663 Joor Place Drive.

The 360-unit complex was developed by CST Multifamily Real Estate Services. The $93 million complex is aimed at residents and families who earn 50 to 70 percent of the area median income.

Joor Place Reserve offers amenities such as a multi-purpose clubhouse, fitness center, dog park and playground.
