LE MARS, Iowa (KCAU) — Iowa Senator Joni Ernst visited Plymouth County Friday morning as part of the final stop on her River to River tour.

Ernst stopped by Le Mars to present the Small Business of the Week award to Browns Century Theater and Gift Shop. The award recognizes the 10 years of growth the local business has experienced and the way the theater has given back to its community.

“This is truly a great family business, and I want to promote it as much as possible so other small businesses can see what this family has contributed and how they can strive to do that in their own communities as well . ” said Ernst.

As the next chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, Ernst says she will begin the next session focusing on how to strengthen the state’s local businesses.

“We’ll want to start by renewing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, looking at small businesses and making sure those provisions are renewed,” Ernst said. “So I’m going to take feedback from small businesses across the state of Iowa.”
