Emmerdale fans shared an intriguing theory about the newcomer John Sugden (Olivier Farnworth) this would completely change the situation.

John arrived in the village earlier this year and was introduced as the long lost son of the late Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby)making him Victoria’s half-brother (Isabelle Hodgins) and Robert (Ryan Hawley).

In recent months, fans have seen him form a brotherly relationship with Victoria, while he also embarked on a romantic relationship with Robert’s ex-husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

However, there has been a certain air of mystery surrounding the character, who also served in the military.

According to Leeds livethey posted in a Facebook group: “I think I understand what’s going on with John, I think he’s connected to Robert but not in the way he says.”

“I think he was in prison with him and either loved him or hated him, and he came to Emmerdale to join Aaron because of what happened inside.

“Robert is mentioned too many times for there not to be a storyline about it. I think Robert gets released and when he comes back he sees John and everything comes out… Just my theory.”

Robert was last seen in Emmerdale in 2019 after being sent to prison for the death of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie).

As viewers know, John is currently hides a little secretthe newcomer having been the one to inform the police of a bare-knuckle fight between Aaron and one of Jade’s friends (Twinnie-Lee Moore) at Butlers.

The former mechanic was left to fight for his life before John intervened, performing a procedure with a pen that saved the life of his lover, who he had fallen out before.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
