Traveling to Dubai becomes more difficult: Indian tourists must now submit hotel reservations and return ticket to obtain a visa

The Dubai Emigration Department has announced new, stricter requirements for obtaining a tourist visa aimed at streamlining the application process and improving compliance. Travelers will now be required to submit hotel reservation documents with a QR code and a copy of their return ticket when applying for a visa.

This change requires travel agencies to ensure these documents are included in the application process, as failure to do so may result in delays.

Updated Visa Application Guidelines

Under the revised regulations, hotel reservations and round-trip tickets are no longer optional. Applicants must upload these documents to the Department of Emigration website at the time of application. Only travel agencies are allowed to submit tourist visa applications, while visit visas can also be processed by commercial companies, individuals or families, with the same documentation requirements applying to both types of visas. Visa.

Financial proof requirement introduced

In addition to documentary changes, applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources via their credit or debit card. The minimum required is set at 5,000 Dirhams for a two-month visa and 3,000 Dirhams for a three-month visa.

Reports indicate that many applicants experienced processing delays due to difficulties in providing required documents. Previously, travelers were only asked to present their hotel reservations and return tickets when asked by emigration officers at the airport.

These new regulations, which have already been applied to citizens of Pakistan and several African countries, aim to further streamline the visa process. However, it remains unclear whether expats residing in the UAE will be required to submit similar documents when applying for a visit visa for their family.
