A home expert lists a number of refrigerators that shoppers should avoid buying at Lowe’s.

The Twin Home Experts (@twinhomeexperts) have previously been featured on the Daily Dot for their take on refrigerators with water dispensers– they maintain that dispensers are difficult to maintain and might not filter water as well as you think. In their most recent video, the experts take a look at the worst refrigerators customers can buy at Lowe’s.

The “Worst” Lowe’s Refrigerator Brands

In the clip, the TikToker visits the Lowe’s appliance section and singles out three refrigerator brands that he believes consumers should avoid. The video has been viewed more than 282,000 times.

First on the chopping block is Hisense, a Chinese manufacturer.

“They have so many complaints that there is a class action,” he warns.

In 2022, Hisense recalled 55,200 French door refrigerators sold at Lowe’s after faulty door hinges injured at least five customers.

The TikToker then moves to LG. More precisely, the model with “the water dispenser and French doors”.

The home expert cites two major problems with LG refrigerators.

He says: “We know they have a lot of problems with the bottom drawer of the freezer. The other problem is that the doors are not sufficiently insulated, which loses their effectiveness in keeping your food cold.

Finally, he warns Lowe’s shoppers against purchasing Samsung refrigerators.

“Definitely don’t do it,” says the TikToker, explaining that the brand’s excessive high-tech features make repairs both difficult and expensive.

In the comments section, viewers shared their opinions on the different brands mentioned by the house expert, and also added their own.

“I have an LG and will not buy this brand again,” one commenter revealed.

Another said: “Never buy a Samsung device. »

“Buy a Bosch and save yourself the hassle,” advised a third.

Some viewers disagreed with Twin Home Experts’ take on LG refrigerators, with several users defending the brand.

“I have a French LG refrigerator like the one in this video and I’m very happy with it. my last LG French door lasted 15 years,” one said.

“I disagree with LG. They make the best refrigerators on the market. Linear compressors are exceptional. Never buy Samsung devices,” shared another.

When asked about recommended alternatives, the Twin Home Experts account endorsed Whirlpool as a reliable choice for a refrigerator.

According to Slash Equipment “Whirlpool has a positive reputation among repairers because of the simplicity and repairability of its refrigerators. Spare parts are widely available, and you can usually get a device repaired no matter where in the world you live.

The same article also ranks GE as the best overall refrigerator brand, citing its product reliability and exceptional customer service.
