Worse yet, adding certain ingredients to coffee can exacerbate its negative effects.

“Caffeine, cream, sugar, or artificial sweeteners that are often added to coffee can irritate the stomach lining. These ingredients end up worsening gastritis symptoms, such as nausea, bloating, pain in the stomach. stomach, loss of appetite and even vomiting,” Helmin said.

“However, thanks to herbal ingredients like turmeric, honey and licorice, the stomach can be effectively protected. It is therefore important that people suffering from gastritis are more selective in the choice of their coffee and its additives,” she advises.

This tip also resonates with award-winning barista Mikael, who is also a coffee enthusiast. He acknowledged that stomach problems pose one of the biggest challenges for coffee lovers, with many having to reduce or even stop their coffee consumption due to stomach aches.

“Coffee is part of many people’s lifestyle but unfortunately not everyone can enjoy it without worrying about stomach problems. This collaboration with Promag gives me the opportunity to show that coffee can still be enjoyed safely by people with stomach problems,” said Mikael, who also served coffee to visitors as part of the Jakarta Coffee Week launch event.

He also welcomed the fact that his new collaboration with Promag was an effort to educate the public about Promag Herbal as a safe solution providing maximum protection to coffee drinkers.

“Enjoying good coffee is just as important as protecting your stomach. That’s why Promag Herbal is always my favorite. ‘Promag Herbal First, Coffee No Worry,'” said Mikael.
