iPhone 17 Pro: latest rumors, tips and everything we’ve heard so far

The iPhone 17 Pro probably won’t land until September 2025, but being a high-profile phone, we’re already hearing leaks and rumors about it – and the rest of the lineup. iPhone17 series.

The Pro will probably fit just below the iPhone 17 Pro Maxand just above the iPhone 17 and perhaps the rumored iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim.

And while we don’t know much yet, early rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new button, new cameras, and a new chipset, making it a potentially major and exciting upgrade. Below you’ll find everything we’ve heard about the iPhone 17 Pro so far.

We haven’t heard of any iPhone 17 Pro release date leaks yet, but based on AppleGoing by the usual patterns, we can say that it will probably be announced in the first or second week of September.

Specifically, it will likely be announced on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this week. Apple more often opts for the second week of September, leaving the most likely announcement dates as September 8, September 9, or September 10.

Pre-orders then typically open on the Friday of the announcement week, which means September 12th, and the iPhone 17 Pro will most likely ship the following Friday, which means September 19th.

But it is possible that the different stages of the launch will take place a week earlier, or that Apple will break with its usual patterns.

There is no price leak on the iPhone 17 Pro yet, but the iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 / £999 / AU$1,849, so you can expect to pay at least that much for the next model.

So far, there is no release date or price leak, but based on past results, we are almost certain that the iPhone 17 Pro will be announced in September.

The biggest iPhone 17 Pro design leak we’ve heard so far is this the volume buttons and Action button could all be replaced with a single new key it can do the job of all of these things. It’s unclear exactly how it would do all of these things, but it could well have a similar design to the camera control button, meaning it can record different presses as well as swipes, and respond in different ways to everyone.

THE The iPhone 17 Pro will likely also come in at least one new shadewith a leak suggesting that Apple is considering using one of the three colors pictured below. We also heard that iPhone 17 Pro could use ‘more complex’ aluminum designrather than the titanium of its predecessor.

As for the screeniPhone 17 Pro could have a 6.3-inch screenjust like the iPhone 16 Pro, but it could be more anti-glare than the current screenwhile being more resistant to scratches.

Can you trust these rumors?

We fully expect the iPhone 17 Pro to have a 6.3-inch screen, as Apple only recently increased the screen size with the iPhone 16 Pro. The other design and display leaks so far are worth taking with a pinch of salt, as few sources have weighed in.

A 48MP telephoto upgrade is likely
It could also have a new 24 MP front camera

The main Camera upgrade coming to iPhone 17 Pro could be 48 MP telephoto lens camera, compared to 12MP on the iPhone 16 Pro. This 48MP telephoto lens has been mentioned in several iPhone 17 Pro camera leaksso this could well happen. However, leaks suggest that it will still offer the same level of zoom, namely 5x optical zoom.

The other The significant camera upgrade we could see is a 24 MP front cameraagainst 12MP on the current model.

As for the main and ultra-wide cameras, leaks so far suggest that they will remain at 48MP as on the current model.

And even if it’s less likely, we also talk about that the iPhone 17 Pro could have a mechanical openingwhich means that you will be able to modify the aperture and therefore also the depth of field.

Can you trust these rumors?

So many sources have talked about a 48 MP telephoto lens that this upgrade seems likely. However, we haven’t heard as much about the other cameras, including the rumored 24MP selfie snapper upgrade, so we’re less sure about those specs. We’re also not counting on the phone having a mechanical aperture, as that seems a bit niche considering the amount of work that might involve.

A high-end A19 Pro chipset
Still 8 GB of RAM

One thing we can be very sure of is that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new chipsetone that will most likely be called A19 Pro.

Not only is it an A19 Pro chipset an obvious upgrade, but it has also been mentioned by several sources.

Beyond that, there is a chance that iPhone 17 Pro will get 12GB of RAMwhich would be an increase from the 8GB of the iPhone 16 Pro. However, most current leaks suggest that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max will get this upgrade.

And as for the battery, Apple reportedly considering thinner, lighter motherboardwhich could free up additional space for a larger battery than in the current model.

Can you trust these rumors?

One of the few things we’re almost certain of is that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new chipset, since it’s a standard annual upgrade for Apple phones. We hope it also gets a RAM upgrade, but so far it seems more likely that it will stick to 8GB.
