Level 2 evacuation issued near Cottage Grove canceled

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has canceled the LEVEL 2 evacuation notice near Cottage Grove on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Due to the cooler, wetter weather, fire crews were able to respond quickly and keep the fire away from homes and critical infrastructure.

Lane County Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police also assisted firefighters yesterday with thermal imaging from drones to view fire activity through smoke.

Residents are encouraged to sign up to receive emergency alerts at LaneAlerts.org.
