But there’s still a lot of tension in “See for Me,” because even though Sophie is portrayed as capable, she’s certainly not invulnerable.

‘Trap’ (2024)

In “Don’t Move”, the antagonist (played by Finn Wittrock) is a family man on the surface but harbors a dark secret, and it’s exactly the same thing in “Trap”. M. Night Shyamalan’s film opens with a doting father (Josh Hartnett) taking his young daughter to a pop concert for his musical idol. This seems normal enough until we are shown that this seemingly ordinary father is actually a sadistic serial killer known as the Butcher, whose next victim is locked in a basement.

Adding even more intrigue to the mix, Hartnett’s Cooper then learns that the concert is a covert police operation as the authorities have received a tip that the butcher was in attendance. Now Cooper must evade arrest while hiding his true identity from his daughter. “Trap” has big flaws in its back half, but its premise is fresh and it delivers enough thrills to keep you entertained throughout. Plus, Hartnett is wonderfully villainous in the title role.
