Concerning “The next day: expressions of fear, rage, disgust in the face of Trump’s victory” (Letters, November 7): How dare Michael Knosp compare the legal election of our new president-elect to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the assassination of political figures and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001? Just because Knosp was dissatisfied with the results of November 5, the loss of life in no way compares to that of the presidential election.

Donald Trump was elected by popular vote and the electoral college, by Americans who sought change in the way our government is run and the policies that define it.
