Days after hinting at his return as Shaktimaan, actor Mukesh Khanna has said that he will not star in a film on the famous Indian superhero. “I have to clear a misconception to people who thought that I have come to declare to the world that I am the next Shaktimaan. Totally false,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Furthermore, Khanna clarified that he didn’t want to prove that he was “better than Ranveer Singh”. Soon after Khanna shared a poster and teaser video on Instagram on November 12, 2024, netizens on social media called it a fitting response to actor Ranveer Singh. According to reports, the Ravine Boy The star was supposed to play Shaktimaan but the project was shelved.

“Secondly, I have not come to prove or show that I am better than Ranveer Singh or whoever wears the mantle of Shaktimaan will become the next Shaktimaan,” he added. Khanna has often expressed her displeasure with Ranveer playing Shaktimaan, saying the actor was not suited for the role.

Khanna, who played the popular superhero in the TV series aired on Doordarshan in 1997, released a patriotic quiz aimed at children in Shaktimaan’s avatar. “I came up with a patriotic quiz song as an older Shaktimaan because I can and everyone should clearly see that darkness and evil prevail over today’s children,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Khanna took a dig at Tiger Shroff and said that the actor is not fit to play Shaktimaan. In an interview with ABP Live EntertainmentKhanna said, “Forgive me, but if Tiger Shroff tells a child to flush the toilet like Shaktimaan, the child will turn around and say, ‘Tu baith jaa’ (Sit down). He is still a child among children. This is his image and he doesn’t have the stature to play Shaktimaan.
