Lamborghini Revuelto Supercar recalled in India: here's why

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker operating under the Volkswagen Group umbrella, has issued a recall for Revuelto in India. According to a listing on the SIAM website, the recall covers 8 units of the plug-in hybrid supercar. These vehicle units were manufactured between December 2023 and October 2024.

The recall concerns an issue with the passenger side wiper system which is prone to failure due to a faulty connecting rod. The rod forms a connection between the passenger wiper and the wiper motor. Due to the problem, the rod may bend, which may eventually separate the wiper motor, rendering the wiper arm inoperable. This can result in reduced visibility for the driver, which can be a likely cause of an accident.

Before India, the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer had issued a similar recall for 455 units in the United States. The affected units were manufactured between April 2023 and September 2024. According to details shared with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem was identified during internal factory checks in September 2024. The problematic connecting rod was replaced with a part improved in October 2024.

The Lamborghini Revuelto stands out from the crowd with its aggressive design and iconic wedge-shaped body. Adding to its special qualities is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that works in conjunction with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This configuration is supported by three electric motors. All of this together produces 1,000 hp of power. This makes the car capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. While the maximum speed is over 350 km/h.

It should be noted that the Lamborghini Revuelto is one of the very rare modern cars using a naturally aspirated V12 engine. Other models on the list are the Ferrari Purosangue, Ferrari 12 Cilindri, as well as the limited-production Aston Martin Valkyrie and Gordon Murray Automotive cars like the T.50 and T.33.
