Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message to his Al-Nassr teammates. The Portuguese legend is currently going through a difficult time on the Saudi side. Ronaldo recently missed a crucial penalty that could have saved his team from being eliminated from the Copa del Rey. The missed penalty against Al-Taawoun proved decisive for Al-Nassr who were ultimately eliminated from the competition.

Also in terms of individual performances, Ronaldo has not had an impressive run. In their last appearance, Al-Nassr played out a 1-1 draw against Saudi champions Al-Hilal. Ronaldo has now shared a message for his teammates on social media. Sharing some photos of Al-Nassr players, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United talisman wrote: “The battle is far from over. Thank you everyone for your support today!”

Al-Nassr started the match against Al-Hilal on a promising note by finding the back of the net in the first minute of the match. Talisca put his name on the scoresheet to give Al-Nassr the lead. Al-Hilal scored a goal late in the first half, but it was ruled out due to offside.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a few chances to score in the first half, but he failed to convert any. Things got worse for him after the 39-year-old received a yellow card in the first half. The card was brandished after Ronaldo tackled compatriot Joao Cancelo.

Al-Hilal finally managed to equalize in the second half. It was Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who scored the goal to save a point for Al-Hilal. The draw against Al-Hilal has now extended Al-Nassr’s winless streak to three matches in all competitions. With 19 points from nine matches, Al-Nassr now occupies third place in the Saudi Pro League standings. They are six points behind leader Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr will aim to return to winning ways in their next match against UAE’s reigning Asian champions Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League group stage. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal will face Iranian side Esteghla in the AFC Champions League on Monday.
