Ahead of FBI: International’s Dangerous Undercover Episode, Star Christina Wolfe Shares the ‘Big Question’ Fans Should Ask About Tate

FBI: International is on its way back to CBS in the fall TV schedule 2024 after taking a week off in the following Wes’ emotional revelationand the Fly Team member who is usually the safest will be in danger in the new episode on November 12. Amanda Tate, who is usually use your analytical skills to help the team from Budapest, goes undercover to investigate a DEA agent in Spain. I spoke with actress Christina Wolfe about what’s in store and she shared the question fans should be asking and the setting in Madrid.

The new episode on November 12 (which will be available to stream via Paramount+ Subscription) is called “The Unwinnable War”. Tate is called by the Deputy Inspector General to go into the field for a undercover operation to investigate a DEA agent which could well be dirty. Undercover work is nothing new to most team members, but how prepared is the analyst for the challenges? Christina Wolfe shared:

How prepared is she? She’s not very prepared. (laughs) She hasn’t had formal training, but I guess her abilities are the big question of this episode. Will she succeed? It’s a big task, and Wes told her at the beginning that she could pass it on if she wanted, so she makes the decision that she’s capable and she can do it, and then she sticks with it. She.

Amanda Tate may agree, but being prepared isn’t as guaranteed! The agent is second to none as an analyst for the team; she’s yet to be tested as to what “The Unwinnable War” has in store for her. When I noted that Tate didn’t seem like someone who would convey something difficult if given the chance, Wolfe responded:

Absolutely not. Tate is so driven and I think she has a lot of confidence in her abilities on the team and I think she’s impulsive as well. She says it herself – I don’t know if it was actually in the final version of the script – but she says she has a little chip on her shoulder, and if someone tells her she can’t not do something, then she I’m going to want to do it. It is important to her that she feels up to the task and that others think so too, that they entrust these files to her.

It should be interesting to see what the dynamic between Tate and Wes is like in this episode, since his previous field work in Season 3 with Raines happened when Forrester was still the leader of Team Fly. So why is Tate the one infiltrating when the rest of the Fly Team has more experience at it? You’ll have to listen to the episode for all the details, but his fluency in Spanish will be key. Christina Wolfe grew up in Spain and she had nothing but good things to say about how FBI: International puts his Spanish to good use. She told me:

I think it’s really clever how they incorporate it into the scripts, because there were a few moments in the previous season where Tate spoke a little Spanish, but in this one she actively uses it to solve the case, which I think is really interesting. watch and it’s fun for me to play. And also have them installed in Spain and Madrid, among other places, where I grew up. Unfortunately, we didn’t go there. When I read the episode, I was like, “Oh my God, I’m going back to Madrid!” It’s really cool!’ (laughs) And then they say, “No, we’re simulating Madrid in this one,” but it was still amazing. Really, really fun.

FBI: International often travels to the locations where the episodes take place, including filming in London for last season’s big Smitty episode. This time, however, Budapest will double for Spain. Wolfe praised the show for succeeding and shared the only part of the episode she filmed off set:

The production team did a really good job finding locations that would work like Madrid. I was really impressed. Most of it was actually in Budapest, but we went to a city… where they were sort of dressed up to look like Madrid. I actually drove there. It’s a bit far from Budapest, but I drove there to film a scene where I opened a door. (laughs) It was my most adventurous place so far.

Luckily, fans don’t have to wait much longer to see Tate tackle his first undercover job with the Fly Team, as “The Unwinnable War” premieres Tuesday, November 12 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. To get a taste of the danger she faces as a “sweetheart” in a honey trap operation, check out the promo below:
