OCEAN COUNTY – The family of Bob Popovics, who died Nov. 1 after being injured in a hit-and-run accident in September, has announced funeral arrangements for the famous fishing legend and restaurant owner.

Police said that on September 23, around 9:30 p.m., Popovics was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Seaside Heights.

Genell Mcinaw, 50, of Seaside Park, was later charged in connection with the incident. By a strange coincidence, it was later learned that Mcinaw was an employee of Shady Rest.
