Did HYBE subscribe to problematic YouTube channel Sojang accused of defaming BTS’ Jungkook, V, EXO’s Suho and more?

A shocking update has been revealed after HYBE’s weekly music industry trends report was leaked a few days ago. According to the internal document, the agency is suspected of subscribing to Sojang, a malicious YouTube channel accused of defaming numerous K-pop idols, including HYBE’s BTS V and Jungkook. Fans reacted strongly to this surprising revelation, criticizing the company for such activity.

On October 24, the internal reports were revealed for the first time during the state audit at the South Korean National Assembly. The document was later leaked and went viral on social media. In particular, much of the content of the report was considered defamatory, further fueling fan outrage.

Now it is said that in the leaked document HYBE mentioned news released by Sojang about a group from JYP Entertainment. Many suspect that the mentioned girl group is none other than NMIXX.

As the leaked document began to cause a stir, a post from Sojang herself resurfaced on social media. In the post, the YouTuber revealed, “We are honored to be personally subscribed by one of the leading entertainment companies. …It is one of the following: SM, YG, JYP, HYBE.

The latest revelation added to this has further fueled the controversy. Many have heavily criticized HYBE for collecting information from a problematic YouTube channel that has been the subject of at least 8 lawsuits. In particular, many pointed out that even their own artists BTS, V and Jungkook, sued Ms. Park, the mastermind behind the YouTube channel, for defamation and slander.

There are also suspicions that the agency may have used this information from Sojang to fuel viral rumors about other groups, noting that the leaked content revealed HYBE’s defamatory reports about other artists.

Meanwhile, on October 23, Ms. Park attended the sentencing hearing of the 11th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court. She could be sentenced to 4 years in prison and fined 2 million KRW under the Law on Promotion of the Use of Information and Communication Networks and Protection of Information.

She was accused of producing defamatory content on her YouTube channel about various K-pop idols, including BTS’ V, Jungkook, EXO’s Suho, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, and Kang Daniel, for n name just a few.
