“I can’t believe we actually did this.”

An older gardener has won online accolades thanks to the incredible transformation of her court, which she documented with pictures.

“Here are the fruits of my pandemic project,” she said in her post on r/Landscaping. “The pros did the hardscape; the rest was mostly me. I’m a chaos gardener.”

"You've added so much curb appeal that it now looks like a more expensive home."

They included a “before” photo of an ordinary suburban house with a featureless lawn. The lawn is yellowing and uneven – far from an award-winning garden.

“After” photos are like night and day. The courtyard has been largely embellished with flowers, bushes and even young trees. A low fence borders mulch beds with pretty rocks as accents. A new curving driveway of gray paving stones winds through the yard, and there are a few visible glimpses of a gravel bed that has replaced some of the grass.

The transformation is stunning, so much so that it might even increase the value of the home. “A friend of mine is a real estate agent,” the original poster said in a comment. “She came in recently, looked around and said, ‘When it comes time to sell this place, if you don’t do it this summer, I’m going to hit you.'”

But there are others benefitsalso, like the original poster explain. “It’s a smart water solution pollinator creation. Sometimes I stand there and I’m indifferent to watching the beesbutterflies, hummingbirds(!), goldfinches and sphinxes. …We also have a lot of rabbits. They ate $100 worth of Plant Select wine glasses, but I’m not mad. »

She was incredibly proud of their achievement. “Just yesterday my husband and I were there and I said, ‘Holy shit.’ I can’t believe we actually did it. This,'” She wrote.

And the beautiful courtyard is here to stay. As the original poster says, “I’m a 63 year old woman who never wants to arrange anything else because it seemed like…a lot.”

Commenters were in love with the transformation.
