ABC News predicts that Vice President Kamala Harris will win Illinois and its 19 electoral votes.

Georgia sees record turnout despite bomb threats

Georgia saw record turnout Tuesday after a wave of non-credible bomb threats flooded state election offices, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said.

There were 1.22 million voters on Election Day, a state record, Raffensperger said.

Asked if the bomb threats had an impact on voter turnout or the performance of election officials, Raffensperger replied: “None. We did it. Battle tested.”

“It just shows the resilience of our system and our people,” he said.

The state also had a record 4 million early voters, according to Raffensperger.

Sarah McBride will become the first openly transgender person elected to Congress

ABC News predicted that Delaware State Senator Sarah McBride would have won the election in her state’s at-large congressional district, making her the first openly transgender person to be elected to Congress.

It was a historic night for the First State: Earlier in the evening, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester won her election and became the first woman and first Black person to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Delaware.
