President William Ruto has delivered a resolute message on Kenya’s future, promising that the nation would achieve success and overcome its challenges.

The President assured Kenyans that the government was united in its mission to move the country forward.

He spoke during the signing of the ministerial performance contracts for the 2024/2025 financial year at State House, Nairobi.

“I promise you, we will confuse the naysayers. This country will not fail, it will succeed. Kenya’s enemies will be shamed,” Ruto said, highlighting his administration’s commitment to Kenya’s prosperity.

“This great nation that God has given us will succeed, we will move this country forward. I am confident, I am very clear and determined to ensure that with all of us working as leaders of the Republic of Kenya, we will succeed.

Ruto explained that these contracts set out “government’s solemn commitment to fulfill these commitments” and stressed that accountability and measurable progress are at the heart of government’s development goals.

“Our performance contract with citizens was formalized at the inauguration of this administration as part of our commitments to Kenya’s bottom-up economic transformation,” he said.

“This plan embodies our commitment to addressing key priorities, including reducing the cost of living, managing inflation, creating jobs, eradicating hunger, improving food production and productivity, broadening the tax base and improving exchange balances.”

The performance contracts, he said, stem from our recognition of the need for a structured mechanism to transform Kenya, subjecting each of our actions to objective criteria to assess progress.

With the contracts signed by cabinet secretaries and PSs, Ruto stressed that performance measures would ensure the efficient use of public resources to meet citizens’ expectations and constitutional mandates.

He expressed confidence that this accountability framework would keep the government focused on improving the quality of life of all Kenyans.

The President underscored his administration’s collective commitment to meeting the nation’s challenges with resilience and integrity.
