The Eagles continue their rise, the Cowboys continue their free fall

That’s more like it! We like what we saw in weeks seven and eight. This was the Philadelphia Eagles team we expected to see all season.

A 25-point victory against the hated New York Giants… Saquon Barkley got his revengeeven if he doesn’t call it that.

But it did us good!

Breaking the curse in Cincinnati was fun. Now we need to see consistency. There won’t be any pleasant speeches if the Birds get off to a slow start against the Jacksonville Jaguars or, dare we say, deliver a clunker. We can promise you that. There is no more patience for a downtrend.

How are we doing, you ask? We’re entertaining something we haven’t had in a while, expectations. They’re potentially one of the best teams in professional soccer, which means they have to be at the top of their division, right?

Week 8 is over. It used to mean we were flirting with the middle of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-2 with ten games remaining on the regular season schedule.

They start taking the eyeball test. Some will say the competition hasn’t been impressive, but all they can do is play the teams on their schedule.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

Philly tops our list this week, and it’s not because we’re biased. If they don’t fight, we think they can hang out with anyone.

Each week, they become more familiar with the schemes of Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio. They’re starting to look like the well-oiled machines we all dreamed of.

Next up on the trip is a 4:05 p.m. kickoff against Doug Pederson’s Jacksonville Jaguars. Nick Sirianni was complimentary of his predecessorbut there won’t be any more jokes until 7:05 p.m. Sunday.

2. Washington Commanders

We Said We Aren’t Afraid of Jayden Daniels’ Fashion Train. We still aren’t, but he has our full attention. This is not a flash in the pan. Dude is here to stay.

We thought Washington’s resurgence might take a few more years. We were wrong. The commanders are there and they are a very good football team.

3. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are in free fall. We enjoy every minute of it.

That’s it! That’s the view, and Jerry Jones will never win another Super Bowl.

4. New York Giants

During the last Monday Night Football game, we never believed the New York Giants had a chance to win. Honestly, when they win, we’re shocked every time.

Daniel Jones cannot play. Brian Daboll is not a good head coach. We’re placing the G-Men behind the Cowboys because, as bad as both teams are, we would bet on Dallas if these two teams were to play tomorrow.
