Ape’s Top 10 of the month: November 2024

Welcome to Ape to Gentleman’s Top 10 of the month. We’ve handpicked the top trends, ideas and tips to help you live your best life.

In this article, we’ve selected 10 essential topics covering everything from the most stylish new menswear collections to this year’s most anticipated blockbuster. Whether you’re looking for inspiration for a wardrobe overhaul, wanting to improve your skincare routine, or simply looking for the latest and greatest, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s take a look at how to make November your most stylish, successful, and satisfying month yet.

Instax LARGE 400

It’s hard not to have a soft spot for Fujifilm’s Instax cameras. They’re easy to use, fun, and thankfully a departure from the “there’s just something about cinema” mustache-stroking brigade.

We think at least one of the best nights you’ve had with friends was captured on Instax. Good news then, the Instax WIDE 400 adds an upgrade to the brand’s large format series.

Available in a new Sage Green color, the new version includes a self-timer, landscape mode and a macro lens for close-ups.

Kléman FW24

If you haven’t purchased a pair of Kleman Padror shoes yet, you’re running out of excuses. The French-born shoemaker is a solid choice for chunky, fashion-forward shoes, and the brand’s selection of options continues to expand this season.

The FW24 collection introduces new colorways for the Padror, a black Traverse B2 boot, a Convoi monk strap shoe and an Oxal boot that skates like a dream.

LUMI SaunaPRO

No wellness routine is complete without a sauna, just ask Scandinavia. The good news is that Lumi now offers a compact home sauna to complement your love-hate relationship with the backyard ice bath.

The LUMI Sauno PRO is made from premium hemlock wood and provides high quality carbon far infrared heating for deep penetrating heat. It promotes muscle recovery, detoxification and relaxation without the extreme heat of traditional saunas.

Strictly intended for indoor use, it also offers immersive sound and light settings.

Haglofs Spitz GTX Pro

It’s that time of year again, the season of big coats, but also the season of wonderfully technical GORE-TEX jackets. Yes, we’ve seen someone else notable don a three-panel colorway reminiscent of a German supermarket, but we have our eyes on this Swedish beauty.

Haglöfs’ new outdoor brand is the Spitz GTX Pro jacket. This mountain-ready icon combines high performance, durable, highly breathable weather protection and enhanced comfort, thanks to three layers of GORE-TEX PRO fabric.

No more excuses to postpone this hike.

Gladiator II

It’s been 24 years since Gladiator (2000) was released. This month sees the second installment of Ridley Scott’s epic tale of the Roman Empire, starring Paul Mescal as Lucius, the son of Russell Crowe’s slave-turned-gladiator Maximus.

Much like his father, Lucius seeks revenge and redemption after invading Roman forces kill his wife and force him into slavery. Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielson also star in what will be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Pour one out for the Nick Cave storyline that never existed.

In theaters from November 15.

MM6 Maison Margiela x Timex T80 digital watch

It’s not often that we can point you towards a watch with designer credentials for under £200, but with the MM6 Maison Margiela x Timex T80, that’s exactly what we’re dealing with.

A reimagining of Timex’s retro T80 design, the watch features a 36mm stainless steel case on a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet. It features a chronograph, daily alarm, timer, month and date display, and our INDIGLO® backlight for nighttime visibility.

If that’s not enough, there’s also a mini version designed to be worn as a ring.

XOPA Single Origin Coffee Liqueur

Christmas is coming, which means entertaining. And entertaining means having a well-stocked drinks cabinet. We’ve been recommending different spirits lately, but don’t let that detract from the other important elements of a good cocktail.

No drinks cabinet is complete without a bottle of coffee liqueur, and we have a soft spot for Casa Barú’s XOPA. The Panamanian distillery combined single-estate rum with single-origin Caturra coffee, grown and roasted nearby.

Great on ice for coffee lovers, perfect in an espresso martini for everyone.

HAVEN Ridge Liner Fleece

Even more crossover clothing for the winter months, this time from Canadian outdoor clothing and streetwear group Haven. The brand is a good one to keep on your radar for the upcoming season, and we particularly like its Ridge Liner fleeces, which look great but also provide significant warmth.

Made from OG Polartec fleece material, specifically Alpha® Direct (a fabric originally made for US Special Forces), the liners function as a versatile mid-layer or lightweight outer layer.

Adidas x Wales Bonner FW24

Adidas Originals Wales Bonner is released for Fall/Winter 24, and it’s a vibrant streetwear ode to the foundations of hip-hop culture.

Celebrating sportswear, the range includes tanks and floral tops, draped tracksuits and what looks like the soft launch of Superstar summer.

But don’t dismiss Samba. Fall/Winter 2024 sees the release of two Samba silhouettes – crocodile-print leather editions of the classic Wales Bonner Samba and Millenium styles – which will put it back on the fashion map for another season.

Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery is one of the country’s most underrated art institutions and one of its most cutting-edge. One of the few dedicated photography galleries, the space, located on the edge of the city’s Albert Dock, is a stronghold of equal parts local and international, with exchange and community at the forefront of its work.

Stephen McCoy’s Proximity will explore the Merseyside-based photographer’s 45 years capturing the region, ticking the box on all of the above and presenting Open Eye at its best.
